So lads, how does it feel knowing May is going to ban this site? I have a very bad feeling that we'll probably all be getting visits from the fuzz in the early mornings just because we're 4channers, wouldn't be surprised if we get jumped and shoved into the party van.
We can only hope that Reddit and Tumblr get banned because even though they do have porn aren't entirely dedicated to porn which will cause all the underages and liberal faggots to throw a tantrum and eventually force the government to reverse the decision.

Nope because I believe in democracy. If I had lost I would have legit been okay with it and in fact many that have lost are actually okay with it right now. Truth be told I kind of hope it doesn't happen. You have to physically fight for what you believe in sometimes not just to remind yourself that sometimes words will fall on deaf ears but to remind yourselves that your enemies are still human. This especially goes for them, so I'm not trying to sound like a bleeding heart. They earnestly do not believe the people that voted out are real people with jobs and families, they just think they are racist monsters lurking in the shadows, looming over their candy.

>Question: if you could ban all young people from voting, but had to include yourself, would you?
I have long maintained, even as a member of the age group, that people under 25 should not be able to vote.
The vast majority have never had a real job, never had kids, never owned a home, never really paid taxes, have no life experience, have no responsibilities and have no real concerns beyond the upcoming weekend's gratification via substance use.
That may sound sour but I don't begrudge any of them their fun. Not at all. I just don't think such people have much to offer until they've grown up a bit.
Think of it this way. If you owned a business, would you let the average 18-24 year old run it? I highly doubt you would. So why should that person decide your country's future.
We're not talking about denial of democratic rights. We simply have the age cut off set at the wrong year. The left always wants things to "progress" as society changes. Ok. 18 year olds don't start households anymore. 18 year olds don't have careers and kids anymore. An 18 year old isn't an adult anymore. Therefore, no vote.
>>79566190
because Paul Dacre wants you to believe that
>>79565446
Obviously. 18 year old voting age made sense back when barely anybody went to university. Now, when half the country aren't employed until their mid twenties - if ever - it doesn't.
Ideally, I'd close down all but a dozen or so universities, and fix state education so it's not just leftist indoctrination. But if this isn't an option, voting age of (MINIMUM) 25 makes sense.
People will throw out the "but muh democracy meme", but there's can be no meaningful democracy when an entire generation feel no affinity with their own country and are voting in the interests of outsiders. Until schools start teaching people Britain is a good country and not something to be ashamed off, the youth will always vote wrongly.
>>79558098
If they pick May over her you can expect to see UKIP membership soar past the Tory party within two years.
>>79565613
I said exactly this back in college during the 2010 GE and I was intending to study one of those non-essential subjects. I had so many fucking arguments with people whining about tuition fees when it was a relatively insignificant issue. The dumb fucks kept saying that it was making it harder for poorer students despite the fact I was one of the poorest and most working class students there. It didn't affect poorer students any more than any other and if anyone chose not to go to university because of raised fees then they had no right to be there anyway, far too stupid.
You brought back bad memories. That's one of the moments I really started to hate my generation.
Overall too many people go to University who have no place being there and bright people end up wasting their intellect on worthless degrees. It makes no sense to fund that, or at the very least it makes more sense to disincentivise it.

>Trump isn't saying anything really that controversial for Republican politics
He's being more overt about it in a way they dislike.
For a while, Republicans would subtly hint towards the kind of things Trump talks about, or talk about them in a relatively muted way. They laid the groundwork for these kind of things. Then Trump came along and started saying overtly what they'd been hinting at, and the establishment don't like it because it's "outrageous", but ultimately it's their own fault for quietly encouraging that kind of thing to hurt the democrats.
It's sort of similar to Labour in Scotland. For ages they laid the groundwork, hinting that Scotland was distinct and more left-wing and should thus vote Labour, that Tories are mostly distant rich Englishmen who don't care about Scotland. They quietly encouraged and took advantage of this existing situation, and they benefited from it. But then what happened? Well, when you've so firmly convinced people that the English Tories are such an existential threat to Scotland, while also demonstrating with Blair that you're no better than them... You can't be surprised when someone takes the thing you've encouraged to it's natural conclusion and start voting for the only party that can promise Scotland will never be governed by an English Tory - Red or Blue - ever again.
(Obviously, I'm not saying Lab single-handedly built up Scottish Nationalism, but it's the same kind of situation of an establishment trying to take advantage of underlying forces only to have it blow up in their face eventually.)
>>79566083
There's more reason for it to be 21 than ever before. They're in education longer, they're in work later, they're starting families later, they're living at home longer etc.

It would just be nice if we pulled subsidies from other fields to give them to fields that actually matter.
Our taxes contribute to all that shit, but we don't get much return on anything but STEM. Our economy is practically based on it now.
Free uni is nice and all but, if we truly do need more workers, why are we encouraging people to stay out of work until they're 25 and not picking em up at 16?
>>79566341
Exactly this. It would never be accepted but it's the truth.
I listened to a youth parliament event that my friend helped livestream before the last GE and the lib dem and labour candidate were there pandering to them and telling them how great they are and that they should have the vote. It made me sick. At least one girl saw it for what it was I suppose, daughter of a farmer I vaguely know, and called them out on it.
>>79566852
I'm in the same situation, things will get better I guarantee it, you're not a burden you;re a human being who deserves to be happy
>>79566341
You don't need to create a ban.
The youth demographic is self-regulating - turnout amongst the young is absolutely awful. Old people are conscious that voting matters and thus they influence governments more.
Banning the young from voting would just create more discontent and deny the votes from informed people - similarly, it revives the issues that cropped up in the past where young servicemen below the age of 21 couldn't vote, despite serving their country.
If you were to restrict voting to a responsibility-based system, the most you could do is deny the vote to anyone unemployed or receiving welfare support and that won't stop braindead liberals.

I am sorry to say it, but universal suffrage is the only fair from of democractic action.
We won Brexit because the uneducated, low-skill workforce who have been summarily raped by the EU's open border policy, voted heavily to leave this "union". Old people too, because they grew up in an actual democracy and have watched it be supplanted by globalist puppetry and power-centralization. Had there been a minimum IQ, or an upper age limit set to allow someone to vote, Brexit in all likelihood would not be happening right now.
Project Fear banked on its ability to spook the elderly into voting stay for "muh stability". It absolutely KNEW the young vote would have a terrible turnout, and old people (according to their research) are more likely to vote for comfort and stability in their twilight years. This backfired tremendously since old people saw through the lies.
>>79567765

>they grew up in an actual democracy
Ha.
Someone born 62 years ago would've been 20 at the time of the 1974A election, which took place after Ted Heath took us into the EEC without a referendum.
Now, that's all well and good you say, because we then voted for a Government that would give us a referendum... except we didn't. Ted Heath won the popular vote in 1974A, but Harold Wilson came ahead in seats and got to form the government, then take advantage of the incumbency effect in 1974B.
That is our democracy.
(Don't get me wrong, I'm glad we've left, I just don't romanticise the elderly or our status as particularly democratic. Things often work out in the end, but they often don't.)

The people responsible for introducing devolution in the UK should be taken to court for treason against our once proud nation. Devolution was introduced to appease to minority extremist groups, and most people didn't want it, with the exception of the Northern Ireland Assembly. Now that we've been forced to have devolution it has proven to be a complete disaster. Not only are the Welsh Assembly and Scottish Parliament totally incompetent, the worst thing to come from devolution has been the widening of the divide between our nations. That divide was at first a mere crack, but has now split into gorge that leads directly to hell. As seen with the rise of the SNP this is completely irreversible, and as such the partition of our most sacred land inevitable.
Sorry lads, Britain is over. The dream has died and the roaring fire extinguished.

Relative to us, they really did. This referendum and Cameron sticking to his word is about the first truly democratic act I've experienced in this country, and I've been of voting age for over a decade and have been watching shit fall apart. I noticed it in the intervening months following 9/11, which I think is where I would pinpoint the first onset of Western decline.
I'm not romanticising our elders, but they did grow up in a more democratic climate. Just look at the state of our political system right now. The Tories and Labour are almost indistinguishable with each other. For the most part the political parties barely represent their constituents. We've only just now voted to leave a political system to which we had to defer more and more power. That's not democracy.

>>79570497
Oh, without a doubt they had more democratic choice in political parties, but we still had FPTP with the consequences therein. (Which rendered the current situation all but inevitable.)
There have been many moments of decline. Even without Iraq, Blair was never going to end well. Post-9/11 just threw authoritarian surveillance legislation on top of an already horrible situation.
Which is something we should be more and more worried about, as it happens. With GCHQ/NSA monitoring capabilities, democracy is in severe peril, with or without the EU.
It should also be noted that for what it's worth, the EU technically wasn't "that bad" yet in terms of power grabs. (I can say that now that we've had the referendum.) Hence how we could leave of our own accord, without having to ask permission for a referendum. The direction of travel was/is certainly worrying though.
