The decision by the constitutional court was deliberately over-broad. So far FPÖ only broke into major responsibility in Burgenland where they're currently in a coalition with SPÖ. If they show they are government material, I can see them getting more support in federal elections.

Hofer didn't even allege incorrect results and there have been no recounts, so there's no way the constitutional court would have checked or the BBC correctly reported on this issue. Nobody knows whether tampering has occured, but the court doesn't want to take a chance on it either. The theoretical possibility of tampering is enough to void the election.
