Explains why Disney didn't go with the original canon Star Wars history after VI. The continuation of the Star Wars universe from Dark Horse is fairly dark and grim, why I enjoyed it so much as a child.
It still bothers me we will never see a film adaptation of what led up to Han/Leia and Luke/Mara children and the reformation of the Jedi academy and its downfall. Let alone all the epic battles between the Imperials and the Republic.
