They did not do it earlier, because of piss-poor stance of soviet army. Jews have stolen and destroyed everything (USA had part in it, selling WW1-scrap-metal during implementation of "new deal"). In war USSR was saved by imperial times storages of clothing, rifles and ammunition, lend-lease and a lot of Russian deaths.

These talks went on for months. Behind the scenes, an anti-German policy by France and Britain were being pursued. Britain, through Churchill and Halifax, secretly sought to sabotage the German-Polish neogiations. They made a counter-offer to Josef Beck that if they kept the Danviz territory, and turned down all Hitler's offers, they would back Poland in the event of a German-Polish war. They also discovered the British and French deal with Poland. Germany decided to invade.
Britain and France honored their treaty obligations and declared war on Germany, but left Poland to fight them alone.
