I went out for a few beers with a girl once I've been seeing for a few weeks. I usually pay as I go. Get a few beers, tip a dollar. So we get our first round and I go to lay a dollar on the table intending to give an extra dollar each time. Bitch reaches in my wallet when I have it open and pulls out a five and lays it on the table during the second round.

It is never expected, and most establishments have removed them.

Family owns a few restaurants. I worked to just help out and the idea of giving someone extra money is bullshit but I made 200-300 daily since gratuity was included on every check and people.still left extra for whatever reason.
When I go out, I don't tip unless that person does something like bring us fruits on the house for dessert or something.
