I donate to refugee relief and BLM
I would, but I am afraid even if I did my homework I would be putting money into the "wrong" hands. If you want to be 100% sure something is done right, you have to do it yourself.
More often than not these charities serve to cash out on issues people really care about, like how the susan g komen fund is advertised on yogurt brands that give their cows hormones.

I donate to a few white settlements in northern Sweden
I worked as a paramedic at the red cross for 9 months so I still donate a little every month.
Not really sure where exactly the money goes to but if a portion of it is spend on better equipment it's good enough for me
