I definitely agree about Russia, I studied Russian history as an elective course in high school for two years and there are some striking similarities between the two aside from the 20th Century. They're a proud people and have been excluded from Europe in many respects and looked down upon. I care much less about China just because I do think its a lousy commie shithole with way too many restrictions for their citizens although the Chinese people I've met have been extremely hardworking and friendly (but these are ones who were able to come and work or study in the US so most definitely not an unbiased sample).
