it is a crypto currency that is designed to handle larger volumes and larger markets than what bitcoin can. which is bitcoin's flaw. It is slow and bulky. /biz/ is falling for it because they apparently make lots of money speculating in it. Some people there seem to know about ether in detail, but I think most are in it for the quick dollah billz.

This is the similar thing to bitcoin - basically a neckbeard token speculators can make a quick buck on, but also lose their money as easily. What's more, there is coordinated pump-and-dump scheme of ethereum going on right now, so it's even more of a shitty "investment" than bitcoin, since market is manipulated. You'd do better by putting your money in quality plumbing.
it's too early to tell if it will worth anything. aparently solves many of the problems with bitcoin, but I wouldn't put my shekels on it yet. bitcoin is a sinking shit however
