Okay /o/ I've been riding my yamaha R6 for some time now and I need to ask, do any of you guys honestly wear bike boots?
Like I always wear my gloves, jacket, helmet but I wear my Vans or Chucks when I ride. I've never seen a need for motorbike boots.
Are they just a meme or am I missing something?

A guy in m/o/to got in a bad wreck a year ago, oncoming traffic clipped his right side and destroyed the bones and skin in/on his ankle. After a year of being laid up he got a bone infection and had to have it amputated. Would riding boots have saved him? Who knows, but they certainly would have helped by not allowing the bones to be crushed.

i squid all the time and i've crashed squdding, even, with no major injuries
but proper gear will really show it's worth in a crash as long as you don't get flattened
i only really rely on long pants, full face, and gloves because if my brain survives a bad wreck i hope i can at least wipe my own ass

Only wear motorbike helmet, gloves, jacket then just vans . Occasionally kevlar jeans normal cargo pants or normal jeans the rest of the time
