Are there any good resources for this? I use Discogs to find music but their country selector just means 'a version of this release was made in this country', not that the band is from there.

RYM can filter by artist but their database isn't as exhaustive as I would like
Even discogs lacks alot of releases from Asia and Africa
Look for blogs or mp3 download sites or something, it takes a while but is worth it.
