well slipknot is the best band so
yes
Both bands have fantastic albums early on in there career.
Both self titled albums from SlipKnot and Korn are fantastic, however Slipknot also has MFKR and IOWA which are great, while the quality from Korn drops down a level.
However surprisingly enjoyed The Path to Totality from Korn, while AHIG and Vol.5 are awful albums from Slipknot.

deftones and soad hardly made any nu metal songs and completely abandoned it by the dawn of the millennium. Deftones were always like proto shoegaze metal with alternative/ post grunge tendencies and soad was like the latter with some thrash/nwobhm tendencies. they just happened to work with fred durst and john from korn once or twice, came out in the late nineties and got labelled as nu metal.

Yes. I can't think of many bands that reach this level of testosterone fuelled aggression, and it hits a different spot than, say, Swans.
I'd say they still hold up compared to bands like Korn or Coal Chamber, both of which sound dated as hell to me now.
That said, whatever the fuck they made after Vol. 3 is utter shit. Jim Root is a bro tho.

I might have overstated by appreciation for The Path of Totality.
Like >>60331213 said, as a full album experience, it's pretty lame. However something about it is nostalgic for me. I also find that it's a pretty cool that a band like Korn is down to switch things up a bit instead of staying "true" to their sound.
