Starting off with one of my favorite shows by one of my favorite composers.

Another album that I really enjoyed was Miss Saigon which was created by the same team that made Les Miserables.
The show is about a Vietnam veteran named Chris who falls in love with a woman named Kim during the Vietnam war and is forced to leave her behind at the fall of Saigon. After two years of thinking her dead he finds out that she is alive and has his child and he must decided if he will stay with his new wife or go back to Kim.

Assassins is one of Sondheim's less known shows but in my opinion one of his better works.
The show chronicals the different assassins and their attempts in US history starting with John Wilkes Booth and ending with Lee Harvey Oswalt.

Chess is a musical created by Tim Rice who is also created other well known shows such as Jesus Christ Superstar and Evita.
Chess is set in the cold war and focuses on two men locked in a game of chess. One is the arrogant and boisterous American who wants to always be in the spotlight, and a disillusioned Russian who only wants to play the game he loves without all of the politics.

Pippin is a show created by Stephen Schwartz who is known for also creating Godspell and Wicked.
Pippin tells the story of ,strangely enough, Pippin the son of Charlemagne. Te show follows Pippin as he tries to figure out where he truly belongs and how far is he willing to go to get to that ideal place.

Jekyll and Hyde is a musical created by Frank Wildhorn and follows the plot of the book Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde

Alright I'm almost certain you don't have this but by any chance would you know where to obtain a copy of the soundtrack to the modern baroque opera "You Us We All" by Shara Worden? It's fantastic music.

No thanks, I am not very big into theater. I find that my interest in musical theater comes and goes and flares up when I encounter an interesting musical. I've been very fascinated with that one recently. I appreciate that you are making any effort at all!

Another classic novel that has been adapted into a musical is The Count of Monte Cristo by Frank Wildhorn

The movie Heathers has also been adapted into a musical by the team of Laurence O'Keefe and Kevin Murphy
Heathers tells the story of a girl named Veronica who wants to join the group of popular girls at her school whose first names are all Heather. After getting in to the group she meets a delinquent named JT who just moved to town. After leaving a party with out the head Heather's approve she is blackmailed and is humiliated to her the following morning when Veronica goes to her house to apologize. Veronica and JT accidentally end up poisoning and killing Heather having to cover it up as a suicide. How long can the couple last without getting caught?
