Basically, some spooks we need and are good. Every Stirnerite will tell you this. What does the ego want? Life worth living, flourishing, eudaimonia etc
How does it achieve this? Being aware of spooks, using them or discarding them as necessary.
It's basically cultivating the virtues and doing things in moderation.
What does Stirner offer? Smug moral superiority.

This stems mainly from seeing people using Stirner as a scapegoat for their behaviour. The environment and mundane activities overwhelms you with spooks and going against the grain by doing what is considered bad, thinking that it I good for you, is nearly impossible. Chances are you already was doing what you like most subconsciously, and after reading Stirner, that behaviour, even risking your life for "grace", can be done and is fully justified if you so wish.
The ego and its own is more of an observation of human ignorance to the condition of their own minds and hypocrisy than anything else.
Sitrner didn't look at it form organizational technology standpoint. Were basically spooking ourselves to godhood, the technological world is the spooks coming to life.
