Isn't it outdated by now?

Carlyle's The French Revolution, A History
Aulard's The French Revolution: a political history
Lefebvre's The French Revolution
Cobban's The Social Interpretation of the French Revolution
Doyle's Oxford History of the French Revolution
Furets's Revolutionary France 1770-1880 (it's more a textbook than a non-fiction book, but hey)

There was also a 2 part french movie I'd recommend that gave a fairly even handed approach to the events.
La Révolution française: les Années lumière
La Révolution française: les Années terribles

Oh definitely, but there's definitely a value to be had in the proximity to the era he had while writing it. He was also just a genius, so his insights have kernels of truth no matter how the overall frameworks and biases have changed.
