not really. the thing is here that flag flying isn't really something we do in Britain alot anyway. Only government buildings and some churches typically fly english flags. The situation is such that, unless there is a sporting event, no one really flies flags.
Now the only people who do stereotypically fly flags are stereotypically people aligned with the BNP or EDL or stuff like that. Its sort of an inductive reasoning problem.
Its not that the flag itself is seen as racist, just that in a context where no one flies the flag anyway, the only people who do, seem to also be people who are racist~ and this is only among ~some~ left-wing people anyway.
