Mercenaries from there started the first Punic war which was Rome's first step outside of the Italian peninsula which would eventually culminate in Mare Nostrum. I also think that Pyrrhus of Epirus split a guy in half who was from Calabria.

The 'Ndraghetta

Isn't that a lowbrow version of the Neapolitan or the Sicilian mafia?

Camorra>Ndrangheta>>>>>Mafia as of right now

Ndrangheta is very active in South America afaik
>>

really? I thought Ndragheta was the most powerful

don't they have the monopoly of cocaine in Europe

There's nothing low brow about it, except maybe it's perception by the public. The Camorra, the Mafia and the 'Ndraghetta all specialise in different things as far as I've read so it's kinda silly to compare them.

I'm not sure the Mafia is as weak as you make them out to be, they have a huge operations in the U.S.
>>

Yes they are the most powerful

The american mafia isn't affiliated to the italian families. In fact, the camorra and ndrangheta both have very strong connections to the american crime groups.

Some of the largest Greek temples.
Also pretty sure Greeks invented terracotta tiles there.

A few other more minor architectural innovations I think.
