Why is it that ancient humans seem to have a much higher capacity for violence than people nowadays? people still do some heinous things nowadays but from around the bronze age to the end of the middle ages people were on a whole different level.
Was it a lack of empathy? "just because"?

circumstance, we live in a world where scarcity of essential things like food and shelter are rare in most of the world, so less wars etc. plus although violence has a much larger coverage via internet/tv people aren't really experiencing it or seeing it in their daily lives.
