You can use the escape character for the system bell and something like cron or Windows task scheduler

Why would a fish want to use a computer though?

Well to be more specific, a long time ago I had a PC that would beep every time you would try to exit something without saving.

I want to know if there is any way to set when the motherboard speaker beeps, what tones it beeps at, etc when things like dialogue boxes pop up.

That's really weird I've never heard of a computer doing that. It could be a software thing like perhaps an Ease of Access setting.

>he didn't return or trash it the instant he discovered the speaker
>he kept it and didn't desolder the speaker

Just unplug the speaker if you don't need it m8

I understand that, but I really do like it. It's just a preference.

Qbasic could, back on Windows 98. Not sure if you could get Qbasic working on a newer Windows though.

It's more common on workstation/server grade motherboards.

I have a Supermicro motherboard I use Linux with, and it beeps many times.

If I backspace at the beginning of a terminal, it beeps. Tasktray notification can cause beeps. Hexchat (IRC client) would beep if I got a msg, sometimes if a program crashes it will cause a beep, etc.

>not having a mobo speaker
>desoldering your mobo speaker
Have fun explaining why you don't have beep codes when it breaks and you want to know what's wrong.
