I bought a domain last year and since then it has been parked. I want to build a basic website which I can put on my CV. Can anyone recommend me a free, basic and simple webhost

Just buy a cheap vps, install apache or nginx and host your domain

Or register for the free one in amazon EC2

>can't start a process without triggering muh ocd

Github pages for easy free static hosting

My friend and I are looking to make a very very small start-up, how would we go about say buying a domain name from something like godaddy for example and hosting the site. Should I host my own site on a server in my house? Should I pay them to host it?

I said for example godaddy, its the first one that popped into my head, not saying I would actually use it. And it's gonna be so small you could barely consider it a business

Are you looking to use dynamic pages (php, ASP, etc.) or just plain HTML?
