No, you're wrong yourself. In regards to memory usage, DWM has a smaller footprint than TWM. Not only that, but TWM uses Xlib. Any WM using XCB will have a smaller CPU usage.

If you're looking for small memory usage, DWM is one of the smallest out there. For CPU usage, i3 is one of the best.
