Just got back from Ottawa ComicCon today. I wanted to pick something up, and I had my eyes on this beautiful peice in a giant frame, but 60 sheckles was too much. I was real surprised to see the artist living in Ontario! I never got a chance to get a smaller size before dipping out.. Maybe I'll get another chance at Pop Expo.

I bought the artbook, have the Blu Ray on pre-order from yhe Disney Store so I get those lithographs too.
I also purchased the Disney Infinity figures. I don't own the game, and now Disney is cancelling gane development. So I'm not sure if these things would even become collectible, but I've decided to keep them inbox for now since I've got no use for them.
I think I did my part though. Saw the movie 4 times, brught different friends along each time. Artbook, Infinity Figures, BluRay. All I can do now is hope a sequel will be considered.

Well, I just got out of the movie, I asked the manager if he got any word of pulling the movie. No official word yet but he suspects thursday may be the last day. Something about pulling it just before Angry Birds debuts (this friday for us).
He said it doesn't make sense as Dead Pool is still showing and the dvd is out for it and yet Zootopia has more people watching.

More info on the old scripts (it'd be cool to know what major beats/plot points different iterations hit) and exactly when/where/how the different major changes were made. Getting to see the evolution of the story like that would be great.It will never happen, but I'd also love to see a full-length voiced storyboard of an early version of the script.

Artbook. My order finally arrived today. It totally owns- buy it. There is lots of extra art that I have never seen online, even after lots of digging though blogs and twitters; also plenty of write-ups on decision making and concept development.
Got 2 movie posters from a cinema, one of the default street scene and also the variant in OP.
Got some bits of the cardboard subway standee. I could have had the whole thing but even I have a limit to my autism. I have the blue/orange poster of Judy pulling Nick's tie, Flash, Finnick and the 2 little lemmings(?) that are next to Judy's foot. Considered taking Clawhauser too, but fuck Clawhauser.
I bought all the lil' funko blind box figures. An unopened shipping/display box has 1 of everything in it if so I just said fuck it and got em all. Individual detail and styling varies between figures, which sucks a bit since the most detailed character is the one I care about the least (Ice Cream elephant) while Nick, Judy and Bellwether look a bit shit in comparison. I'll probably buy the Infinity figures to make up for that.
I want at least the Nick and Judy tsum-tsums, but no shops have them in yet. Will buy online if they don't get them in soon.

The nighthowler victims don't seem as all out as the rage-virus infected. Manchas stops almost completely before pouncing at Nick and Otterton tears up the car for a little bit before going after anyone, for example. Plus, even if the movie doesn't say one way or another, the predators probably still care about injuries/self-preservation and eating.
If you have "normal people turned hyper-aggressive threats" in your movie, it's probably going to draw comparisons to other works with that in them (even if the details don't line all the way up), just because it isn't something that is used a lot- most mindless threats are either slow zombies or non-human.

my point being, Zootopia showed everyone beautiful, vibrant and breathing world people can't get enough of. Zistopia then becomes an alternative timeline, harshly contrasting with warm and sunny Zootopia we know and love.
It's a nice small journey, not unlike watching a horror in the comfort of one's own home - with the easy fall back to nice and sun-soaked Zootopia environment.
Were it the other way, any attempts to show characters or the city in positive lights would have been seen as pathetic attempts of denial or mocked as Orwellian propaganda.

Apart from the fact that TV shows just let people stretch a fandom on for way longer, people seem way more level-headed about Zootopia than how shit was for MLP. As someone who mostly sticks to /trash/ these days, I actually think the split might've been good in the long run because it worked so effectively to separate the content. People who want to be able to post porn, barely-related content, etc. have /trash/, and /co/ gets its much more focused, on-topic movie discussion. People can go to /trash/ if they want lewd stuff or stuff in the realm of fanworks like Zistopia, and come to /co/ when they want to talk about the more filmic qualities. And they're not exclusive so you can easily go from one to the other (if you want) depending on what you're looking for. It's also had the added bonus of slowing down the threads to the point discussion won't get drowned out.
As a final cherry on top, people wanted Weaver, Chumpy, etc. to take a hike from these threads, to the point arguments would constantly crop up, and now they're gone. And in a way that's amicable rather than bitter, to prevent further arguments in the future. Everyone got what they wanted in the end.
