takes very little time to clean, maybe 10 minutes. and I change the water every couple of days so it's never sitting with week+ old water or anything.
I am actually purposely NOT cleaning it right now so I can accumulate the reclaim, since this piece is just being used for oil, the reclaim in that piece is pure oil, it will taste shitty, but it's a good high. So I will probably wait another month or so before giving it a 99% isopropyl alcohol soak, then let the alcohol evaporate and you're left with reclaim dabs.
Tldr, as long as the build up doesnt affect the function of the recycler, I see no reason to clean it.

Bring drinks, gatorade is my go-to drink to combat cotton mouth (severe dry mouth)
also, bring snacks, anything from candy to chips, to pizza, doesn't matter, just bring something to munch on that wont make your mouth dry or something overly chewy/sticky (peanut butter for example is a bad idea when you're baked)

I use a small base about 1/4-1/2" of Mcfins carbon (because it's the right grit to not fall through the holes). However since it's fairly pricey, then I fill the rest with Coconut charcoal I bought on ebay for like $5 for a lb. Has lasted me several months. I do like this carbon filter, its a bit pricey, but it makes even shitty weed some of the smoothest shit you will ever smoke.
