As someone who only reads Bleach anymore only to find out how they end this shitfest, I was surprised that this recent chapter was so good. Then again I think I've only ever liked Zaraki's scenes during the last several years.

Someone so powerful can be born, that he divides into two entities so that he won't feel lonely anymore, and the other entity is physically real while they're divided.
However to reach full power again, they once more had to become one.
Your sword spirit is your inner self, when he was just discovering himself after losing to Unohana, it was created, it was little more than a baby at first who didn't remember itself. He subconsciously gave her form when he was sitting in the woods one day feeling alone, thinking about Unohana. Then they grew up together, neither having a name but both feeling comfortable with each other right away for some mysterious reason. When normally he would have killed anyone who got that close to him before that point. They both felt like they were linked, and they were.
We've had hints she was his sword since the first appearances though, this was a theory even before Stark showed up, although it had very little basis at first.

Hueco Mundo is probably the worst part of the entire manga, if you can make it past that you should be able to get through it all. The Fullbringer arc is also pretty dull but it's very short and has a madcap twist in the final leg of it that makes up for the dullness of earlier chapters. Then after that it's pretty much Mr. Kubo's Wild Ride for like 100 straight chapters.

Anyone else is getting the feeling that Kubo wants to get done with the individual Shinigami stories, so that he can focus on the actual Quincy story once that is done. He has barely touched upon the story relevant stuff. I only hope there will be enough Quincy left once he does that. Would suck if Kubo now focuses on the Quincy story, but not on the QUincy because they are all dead.

Yup, exactly my thoughts after reading that chapter. Well... I guess it would make sense that Kubo would go batshit mad to make any sense whatsoever on how Ichigo is going to defeat Yhwach and his fellowship. But does that also mean that Ichigo actually defeated bankai Byakuya using only his shikai? And everyone else he defeated fell to just his released state?
Also I kept on thinking about this one and I've got a theory of my own. A shikai should be just the sword changing into something else. So why does Tensa grant Ichigo a coat of reiatsu? My theory is that the coat is manifestation of Ichigo's mom and her effort to protect her son. Your thoughts?
These recent chapters have been great. I laughed like a madman at those last few pages.

It might not actually be a Shikai, as there was no release command, and as Isane noted the entities summoned by Yachiru simply 'appeared', very unlike other Shikai.
It's more likely that her 'Shikai' was more of an extension of her own projected form. In toher words, the Yachiru we know is only the tip of an iceberg that we now know as Nozarashi.

But every backstory reveals a new pieces of the puzzle. Komamura's backstory for example revealed more about how the afterlife works and that the Shinigami are not original rulers of Soul Society. Shunsui's and Nanao's backstory revealed possibly more about the five noble families and what made the Soul King loose his limbs.

It will be the Masamune to ooetsu's Muramasa (the sword sheathed in gel). The Miracle's comment about a chipped sword being unavoidable in combat is what leads me to believe Zaraki's bankai will be in perfect condition. Unohana had to fix what she broke and psychologically, Kenpachi would never have used shikai let alone bankai back then because Unohana's fight with him left him desiring a fight like that and thus he had a tendency to make fights go longer by handicapping himself. I'm starting to think now that we're only now going to begin to understand the deep genius that is Hirako Shinji. It appears he purposely revealed the power of his shikai only to job to Aizen because he realized they would not be victorious against Aizen at FKT, but that the real final battle would happen in Soul Society at a later date when he could use all of his power without worry for the barrier. He's been keeping his bankai hidden so Aizen couldn't learn of it's ability, unlike everyone else that's throwing them at whichever Quincy they're fighting.

Memes aside, there's no way he planned for Ichigo's entire existence, the coming of Yhwach, and the hogyoku rejecting him. That doesn't sound very Kubo for Aizen to have planned everything Palpatine style in the most complex way possible, especially since some of his plans felt needlessly complicated when he could have been more practical. The entire point was to show how arrogant he was when he felt the hogyoku would make it unnecessary to be cautious.
If he actually faked all of the times his plans failed for a larger plan that ends up making him the victor at the end of the series, he would reach shit like Medusa Gorgon or Black Zetzu tier bullshit.
