Out of all recorded species in our evolutionary history, which one do you believe that given slightly different circumstances, could have dominated the earth rather than humans?

For a while I thought it to be the neanderthals, but despite their extreme similarity to humans, their key aspect that proved to be fatal was that they were less sociable than humans. They didn't communicate as effectively and this is the reason for their downfall.

Anyone else have some ideas?

This isn't exactly paranormal, but I can't really think of a better place to post it.

Alright, so Jack the Ripper isn't a particularly special serial killer based on his actions, but he is one of the first notable ones. He taunted the police, sent organs to them, even ate them.

So on google maps a couple months ago and learn Estes park is only 1 hour away. Go and visit and lo and behold ITS THE MOTHERFUCKING STANLEY HOTEL! Go on an impulse and buy tickets to tour. Took shittons of pictures but I got something intriguing. This was in the basement. Look at how fucking bright this orb is! 10/10 would stay in room 407. 10/10 haunted.

Alright, /x/. Odd one for you tonight- I think I attained enlightenment. Satori. Nirvana. Whatever you want to call it. Everything makes sense, and is ludicrously simple- in a way that just spirals out in complexity when you try to explain it.

My question, then, is what should I do about it? Bodhisattva or Pratyekabuddha? Just curious to see what people thought.

So /x/ I was thinking about all the conflict in the world today, in America alone we have white against black, man against woman and so on, in the world at large you have the middle east vs the west and so on.

I was thinking about that in regards to Jung's idea of the collective unconscious and state of the Earth's environment thanks to climate change.

What I'm getting at is, is everyone slowly going crazy because subconsciously we know the Earth's environment is fucked and things are about to get really bad?

So I've come here for advice.

The other night, I had a weird...dream? I guess you could call it that.
It was more of a closed eye visual, it happened right as I was falling asleep.
I was laying in bed and I had this extremely vivid mental imagine that I was driving and had hit someone with my car, it felt so real that it jerked me awake.
What is this phenomenon? Happens very rarely, but is usually preceded by an extremely active mind, by this I mean sometimes before I fall asleep I will find my mind racing, hundreds of random situations and conversations...
