One of the few threads I've seen about this on 4chan, which I saw like a year ago, they were talking about one channel like this but it had some obviously intended to be disturbing. There was really weird things like real mouths being edited onto the characters and stuff, and I think there was some occult stuff in the videos too. The channel didn't have many views, but people who commented things would be replied to with evil-ish things by the channel. I guess it was meant to lure kids in and scare them or something. It's hard to say exactly when this all started, on the surface it kind of seems like a string of really bad luck, but it feels more than that if only because it's been happening for so long.
