I do believe that not all reports of that kind are from lunatics or people just imagining things, or simply lying, even though many probably are. But what Im missing is proof. It's obviously a depiction of Moses' bronze serpent but why would a serpent save the lives of his followers? I would understand the symbolism if it meant turning to Christ on the cross but that hadn't happened yet (and wouldn't the snake be a pretty unfitting animal to represent the saviour?).
it's a metaphor for kundalini.
a more traditional view is that it means salvation is for everyone, even the serpent (devil) will be redeemed.
