So I'm borrowing a monitor from a friend to hook up to my laptop but my laptop doesn't have a DVI port. What kind of adapter do I need to be able to hook this up to my laptop? Please help!

You can adapt DVI to VGA but for HDMI you need more than a mere adapter, I'm pretty sure. You'd need a separate device that actually converts the signal. Are you sure the monitor doesn't have an HDMI port on it?

lol

I checked and there's no ports on it other then a usb 2.0 port, the dvi port, what looks like an Ethernet port or something? And of course the port for the power cord

OP here again, there's a lot of adapters for sale on Amazon and what not, none of those would work?
If your laptop has HDMI than you can use a HDMI to DVI adapter.

I do have an hdmi port, just browsing Amazon I found at least 3 or 4 different kinds and I'm not sure what one to use. None of them seem to match the plug I have though

Which one?

Mine doesn't look like any of those, it doesn't have any of those slits or anything on the left
OP here
Feeling pretty stupid. It's a VGA cable lol
