It really depends on what you're looking for. If you want to find sites in a certain category, usually it helps to build a query based on things you know will be in that type of site, e.g. "All trademarks and copyrights on this page are owned by their respective parties. Images uploaded are the responsibility of the Poster. Comments are owned by the Poster." for some-chan based sites, etc.
As much as I hate to recommend it, on Reddit /r/opendirectories has some good tips for finding fileservers. I suggest getting familiar with advanced search operators (quotes, +, - inurl, etc); they'll help narrow your searches.
