Guys, my fucking cunt brother got on my laptop last night (because brother) and now I can barely hear the volume. Not thru vlc, and not the system volume. I've checked thru the speaker properties and ticked Loudness Equalization and still volume is shit, even at max.
Completely frustrated, what do?

Second, are you using actual speakers or system speakers on your laptop? Because I see bass boost and if that's enabled too high it can fuck up your speakers, resulting in low audio or distorted noise/white noise. Try disabling that and see if it's any help at all.
Right click audio icon and troubleshoot, still fails attempt a restart, always does wonders. You can also head to device manager and find your speakers -> Disable / Enable to reset the device that way.
plug in headphones. is the volume too low on them as well? then it's a system problem.
is the volume on the headphones okay? then the speakers have been ..er.. loved tenderly.
