Help bro's!
I'm starting youtube channel and I need all the help/tips I can get, for example: what are the first few things I should do?
Don't expect results overnight unless you randomly tap into a vial meme that no one knew they wanted until they saw your video.
Failure is likely.
While it's good to branch out, try to cultivate a single audience before attempting to grow, trying to do too much too soon is probably a bad idea.
Also if you viral your site on 4chan, kill yourself.

Always put your focus on quality content above all else. Someone can still succeed if their content is good even by ignoring the rest of teh advice below.
>If you're good with branding/graphic design, create a nice consistent experience across Youtube/Facebook/Twitter/Whatever, if you're not, don't worry but be sure to tweet nice videos you make about things to their creator. Respond politely to anyone who contacts you, even if they're trolls.
>Leave relevant links and links to your other channels in the description of each video.
>Make your tags meaningful. Don't fill them with memes and in-jokes unless they directly pertain to your video. Try to think of what you would search youtube for if you were looking for videos like yours. Use at least 3, never use more than 10.
What sort of channel are you making?
Thank's dudes

>3. Monetize videos automatically
What does this means, also do I need to have just bank account number or a PayPal account for YouTube registration?
>>116635
Eh. I suggest you read about it here. https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/72851?hl=en&rd=1

Well it's manifestation of my life-type-of-channel
About game music vidoes, somethign like AMV's but GMV's [Game Music Videos] other channel would be outdoor/nature/airsoft kind of channel. Basicly something like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4DOKzTHaPfM
But more creative
>>116639
Thanks dude, from what I read "Monetize" is an option which if you turn on, you get more views of your video?
>>116648
One of my friends got reasonably popular doing that, and assassin's creed/souls videos.
I'd recommend using editing software like sony vegas or adobe after effects, he did that on a destiny video right when it came out and the bungee twitter tweeted his video and he got a ton of free exposure from it.
Monetize is for running ads on your videos, unless you have a fan base already it'll probably cost you views, not earn you more views.

>unless you have a fan base already it'll probably cost you views, not earn you more views.
You got me thinking with this...
>he did that on a destiny video right when it came out and the bungee twitter tweeted his video and he got a ton of free exposure from it.
With this also, but what made bungee twitter to do this, to tweet his video?
>>116667
One of them saw it, liked it and they tweeted it, The game just came out and it was free exposure for the both of them.

I like how he put his name in the start of the video, and the black out effect is very timely synchronized with the music, I can't believe it only have 30, 000 views, I thought it would be like atleast 500,000 what is wrong with this world...
>>116668
BTW, do you know with what he did the editing?
>>116687
Alright, and do I need to have just bank account number or a PayPal account for YouTube to transfer any possible funds?
>>116688
I wouldn't worry about that until you hit 10,000 plus subs, or if you get a video that hits 500,000 views.
>>116689
Well if I got all what he said right https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U4ruZu11MM0
This should be the correct pay, per view:
1 000 0000 views=2000$
300 000 veiws =800$
25 000 views = 60$
10 000 views = 10$
1000 views = 2 $
Does my email address is the actual channel name or YouTube nickname?

>GMVs
>Monetize
Don't bother. Unless the music is all your own stuff, you'll be hit with copyright infringement. If you DON'T monetize though, then no one will care. GMVs are pretty cool though. I post to a gaming blog with the guy who created https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CH-q8BzPobY, which is pretty much the original Smash Bros GMV.
>other channel would be outdoor/nature/airsoft kind of channel
That's cool, yeah monetize that one.
>>116703
Thank you dude. I was wondering how videos such as this one:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qq-45wXw7E8
Don't get touched for copyright infringement, for years and they just don't monetize... how clever

don't. if you are starting a channel just to make a youtube channel and try to be efamous, just don't. only make a channel if you have a reason to make one, like you are talented at making animated shorts or good at music.
>>116739
How would I know if I am talented if I don't make the channel?
>>116831
if you're talented and have shown even 15 people your work, you'll know immediately coz they'll be fawning over you.
other than that, nothing is stopping you. making a channel is free, go nuts. even if it crashes and burns you can still learn something.
just don't quit your day job unless you're consistently getting 100000 views per video
>>116729
Anon, you're the only person who said monetize videos automatically, The other anon recommended you to hold off on monetizing videos until you get a fan base.
