Hey guys I'm trying to install a "legal" copy of windows 7 but I keep on getting pic related error. I checked in my bios and my HDD and SSD are visible and being read, but for some reason I can't see them from here. Also I'm using a bootable USB not a CD/DVD.

All my hard drives and the USB are set to Legacy mode/option. btw what is legacy?
>>
The USB is obviously being read it's just that your W7 copy doesn't support either your SSD or your HDD
To know if it's the SSD try unplugging it and booting it up again if your HDD does appears then just put the drivers Windows uses for your SSD in the USB, turn off your PC plug the SSD and boot it up again then install the drives
If it's your HHD it might be due a special configuration of your motherboard and your HDD. google your PC model(if you didn't build it) / or the model of your motherboard + "can't install drivers missing win7"
>>
>>89878
I went on this link to download my drivers for the storage device: http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5496#dl

However I don't know if it's my SSD or HDD that's not being read.
>put the drivers Windows uses for your SSD in the USB, turn off your PC plug the SSD and boot it up again then install the drives
How will I be able to install the drives without getting access to the OS?
>>
>>89884
Do you only have one PC?
Try turning off your PC, take out the SSD Abd turn on it again, does it show your HDD?
>>
>>89888
Give me a minute I'll try to get disconnect the SSD from the mobo.
>>

>>
>>89894
>>89893
>>89888

Shit, the comments says it doesn't work for your GA Z170XP-SLI.
>>
not op but do you guys know where i can get a clean windows 7 iso without having a key?
>>
>>89878
Your a tard. This is an error message about the installer not being able to read the install medium once it's pivoted into protected mode.

>>89791
Windows does this if your USB presents as not "removable", which most large USBs do because reasons. Install Easy2Boot on your USB, and then convert your installer ISO to a partition image.
>>
>>89909
Get your ISO from anywhere you like and then compare SHA1sums with the ones listed on MSDN.
>>
>>89791
when you get a "file missing"message, pull the flashdrive out and plug it back in then click next.
>>
>>89920
>then convert your installer ISO to a partition image
How do I do that?
>>
>>89922
This doesn't work.
>>
>>89928
http://m.easy2boot.com/add-payload-files/makepartimage/

"CSM" is a bit of jargon they made up. It means the USB has had its partition table fiddled with so it thinks a partition image file inside the main partition is itself the main partition.

When you do this, a lot of your loading problems go away, because you're using FAT32 instead of ISO9660 or UDF, and you don't need a translation layer between the .ISO and the OS, because it's accessing a whole partition directly.
