I'm needing some help wiring up my turntable to this sub. Pic related.
I bought it from goodwill thinking it was an amp because I know nothing about sound systems.
When I plugged the turntable in, obviously nothing but bass came out.
So here it is. .
>can I hook some speakers up to this thing without a receiver?
Take volume off zero?

Still nothing
It's a subwoofer, it's not supposed to put out anything but bass.

Which is why there is a crossover dial, to filter out higher pitch and direct them to the speakers.
Hate to break it to you, but you bought a sub that is part of a home theater system. It can't be made to play mid tones or treble. Page 5 of the manual (7th in PDF) lists the outputs and their purposes.

Thanks for looking that up, but I read through that same manual. There's a diagram that shows I need a receiver to power any speakers that plug into the sub.
Theoretically , I could plug in some sort of amp to power them. I'm pretty sure they would still play those high and mids
