Adjacent and hypotenuse - cosine
cos(40) = 5/x
5 / cos(40) = x
x = 6.5
cmon now, trig is easy math

cos(31) = x/18
cos(31) * 18 = x
x = 15.4

tan(25) = x/9
tan(25) * 9 = x
x = 4.2

(I've had lousy professors who didn't teach very much at all. It was up to everyone to pretty much learn higher math by the book. A very poorly written book, with answers in the back, but void of any useful explanation.)
