For certain GIF files, everytime I put them in Vegas, this happens.
Images are sometimes not shown due to bandwidth/network limitations. Refreshing the page usually helps.

Are all the animation frames showing up at once?
try resaving it in Gimp (in fact, this will fix a lot of problems with malformed gif files) and then loading it into Vegas

>open gif
>go to filters >animation > unoptimize
>go to file > export as
>name it something.gif (the .gif is important, since gimp is context sensitive)
>click the as animation checkbox
dunno if you absolutely need to do these two steps, but I can't remember:
>change frame disposal to replace
>click use disposal entered for all frames
>export

you can probably do this in Photoshop too if you have it and don't feel like downloading Gimp but I can't remember how
