Hey there.

Got a friends iphone 6 that he wants to jailbreak.
He took it to a guy who seems to have done a factory reset on it and when we're trying to put in the sim card, it gives the usual "sim not valid" message.

Anyone got a program/method to unlock/jailbreak this bastard?

Shameless self bump.

Give the phone back Jamal.

Anyway there is no iOS 9.1+ jailbreak yet so you're out of luck unless it wasn't updated, which is unlikely with how the phone pushes you to update.

You mean "unlock".

"Jailbreak" is running your own code on the phone; "unlock" is running your own code on its wireless modems.

There's no way to unlock an iPhone other than through the mobile operator that leased it to you: phones from the Apple Store aren't locked in the first place.

Phone your operator, pay off your outstanding balance, and a ~$15 admin fee, then put in your new SIM and connect it to wifi or iTunes.

Thanks for the clarification. Won't claim to be an expert and i'll even admit to being a bit of a dunce when it comes to the terminology.

Makes sense.
Thanks anyway!
