I just got into anime after a friend had me marathon Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood with him.
I started watching The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya two days ago and got all the way through it yesterday. (Yes, I watched the movie. Yes, I watched every episode of Endless Eight in one sitting. No, I do not know what's wrong with me.)
Just now, I finished The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan.
Please tell me there is more anime out there that will make me feel these feels.

Brigadoon: Marin & Melan has a lot of them and it's my favorite anime.
Also try out Sora no Woto. It has an excellent post-apocalyptic sci-fi setting, and it's also slice-of-life so it'll give you a good idea if you like the SoL genre without having to commit to a 100% cute-girls-doing-cute-things anime because there is a decent amount of serious stuff in it too.

Anon, I'm just getting into anime too. I've only watched Madoka Magica, steins;gate and Evangelion, and reccomend all three. Eva is a MUST ABSOLUTELY watch, you need to stop whatever you're doing and watch it. Madoka Magica is pretty demigod-tier; Steins;Gate was honestly pretty enjoyable, the humor was spot on and the ending was pretty genious; it was a very good watch after all, the mad scientist guy is well written (unlike some other characters in the show).

Besides, if you really want idols, you want Aikatsu. That is the greatest idol show, and I 100% mean it. I honestly feel it is underrated by English speaking anime fans.

Aikatsu is god tier. I thought its format would make it shit but it defied and exceeded all expectations.
I know it's from 9shit, but it's pretty accurate and gives you a general idea. There are some God tiers series there, so check it.
Before jumping to the god tier series, watch gekkan shoujo nozaki-kun. It's one of the funniest shits I have watched in the last years. Easy to follow and zero bullshit, just fun.

I have only dompleted the first season of Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, but I can say Haruhi is similar to a main character of Angel Beats. You could give it a try (it's only 13 eps long), it has some fun and some feels.
