Hey guys I was curious if I could used a copy of Windows 8 burned to a CD from another computer could help repair mine. Also from your guys experiences what are the best places to get the OS for free. I found some places but they look a little shady.

It's only Windows 10 that's free, and even then you have to have a licensed 7 or 8.1
