Newfag here. I'm trying to figure out which programs are good for making webms. I have searched google but I'm not sure which programs are good versus which ones are bad. I also don't know which ones work on 10. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

FFMPEG is your best bet.

Does FFMPEG allow you to edit webms for length and sound?

Yep. It's a little confusing at first but very useful for creating WebMs.

previously known as "webm for retards", it has 4chan specific tuning options, highly recommended

I use this all the time, it is one of the best.

>no -sn
>no explanation how to use subtitles
And you're telling me this actually works?

xmedia recode does exactly what it says on the tin.

bruh, the guide is for making webms not being a 1337 ffmpeg wizard. Go read ffmpeg's documentation for those things.

I'm just saying. If you try to make a webm of .mkv, and it has subtitles in it, it's gonna turn up the same error as if you had audio in it.

For example, if you don't specify anything about audio, it won't be played, but it'll still be inside the file, and turn up some "malicious file" error when you upload it here.

Same applies to subtitles. You need to add -sn in the command.

Oh I see. Good point.
