Any VLC experts around?

As you see here, I'm running in a minimal interface mode. Also, can't see here, but I have it set to Loop and Random is set on, as well. The issue I have is whenever I close the videos I watch, the size of the player changes, and it resets the Loop and Random functions. So, I have to resize the window manually to what I was watching it at, and tell it to loop and randomize again.

How can I make VLC remember size and playback settings?

Don't use VLC. It's shit.

Use mpv, and add the following line to the config file (for example, for 1280x720):
autofit=1280x720

And here's the manual for all you can do with mpv (though thank the project it was forked from, mplayer. They did most of the work):
