THE PROBLEM:
i have used foobar2000 to create a playlist of musical tracks
i would like to use the "auto track number" function in properties to number them all quickly and efficiently, but when i do so it also changes the "total tracks" values of certain files to different values, seemingly arbitrarily
the end result is that the tracks are numbered "1 1 2 1 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 1 1 2 3 4 5 6 7" instead of whatever it should be (preferably something like "1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 etc etc")
my attached image shows what happens when i select "auto track number"; regardless of what was already in the "total tracks" box, when "auto track number" is selected it's replaced with 1; 2; 11; 7, indicating that the tracks are separated into 4 groups by some unknown hidden factor
i've already tried removing the "total tracks" value from every track, both simultaneously and individually; nothing changes and it still reverts to the same value
every track is in the same folder, so it's not that
MY QUESTION TO YOU:
why is it doing this?
how do i stop it from doing this?
how do i make it do what i want it to? (see above for details)
