/a/ knows a lot of anime that is obscure even for anime groups, but it isnt considered obscure on /a/ due to the nature of the board. For example, no one i know has heard of or seen LotGH but all of /a/ knows it and has seen it (mostly)
obscure by /a/s standards gets into arthouse and pretentious animes that you may have a lot fo difficulty even finding.
Personally, i like the banner of the stars/crest of the stars series.
People rarely talk about it on /a/, but its still not obscure.

Check out all the anime charts, find out director's/animator's names, find their oldest works.
You're Under Arrest (Taiho Shichau zo) is also pretty good.
