Since you mention that this happened lately, have you done anything recently that could be causing the problem (e.g. installed something)? I would also suggest using the msconfig utility to check what programs run on startup. It's very basic, but it does the job. To open it, press Windows-key+R and then write msconfig. Under the Startup-tab, uncheck items that you don't necessarily need to run when Windows starts. Most entries are kinda obvious what they do, but should you not be sure what it does, feel free to ask.
