How can I find the current through the 2ohm resistor ?
>>
>>19352
Path of least resistance, the entire current flows through the 2ohm resistor.
>>
>>19352
If the G stands for a voltmeter then
i = 1.4A * 30 ohm / (30 + 12)ohm = 1A
Look up current divider.
>>
>>19365
I dont know how you got that answer so easily...but 1A is correct
This is how I got the answer,
10/25 = 2/5 Therefore G can be removed...Now we can apply Kirchhoff's rule (ll)
>>
>>19433
I'm not >>19365
but if G is a voltimeter then no current goes through it, then it's just 2 resistors in parallel (one with 12 ohms and the other with 30) so the current through the 12 ohms resistor is what >>19365 said. And obviously the current through the 12 ohms resistor is the same as the one through the 2 ohm resistor
>>
>>19433
>10/25 = 2/5 Therefore G can be removed
that's wrong.
>>
>>19448
Ratios equal. Therefore no current flow through G.Am I wrong ??
>>
>>19478
it depends on what G is.
if G has a resistance of X ohms (with X being a finite real number) you can't say that.
>>
>>19498
>if G has a resistance of X ohms (with X being a finite real number)

thats exactly what a voltmeter is you retard

the rest of what you said is true, depends what G is
>>
>>19519
obs sorry read it as 'infinite'

my bad
>>
>>19519
no, a perfect voltmeter has infinite resistance
>>
>>19527
>no, a perfect voltmeter has infinite resistance
They are called ideal voltmeters

Calculate equivalent resistance of the while network, calculate voltage over that resistance (you have the current), get series resistance of the chain w/ the 2Ohm resistor calculate current over this series resistance (equal to 2ohm resistor current). You could also pack all this bs into one big equation (looks nicer, fuck discrete values)

>>19540
whatever dude, they are perfect to me
>>
Thank you all

I'm an electrical engineer and this shit is once again foreign to me only 6 months after graduating

are you retarded
