Most anime cant take itself to seriously, or when they do its jokishly terrible.
Maybe you'll like dragon ball z (seriously here though, its retarded and has fight scenes right?)
You could see basilisk. Its dark, but not seriously so and the whole thing is centered around people having fights. They arent over the top like OPM is, but its preety good.
Kill la Kill is great and gets absurd towards the end, as people have noted.
Finally, many of the Fate/stay animes have decent fights in them and the story is laughable. Main dude is a noodle though.

Pic related is from Samurai Flamenco, which begins with a similar premise to OPM in that the MC is also a superhero for fun.
It's pretty ridiculous, and the pacing is a bit up and down, and there might be a bit too much fanservice IMO, but if you liked OPM I'd say it's a worthy recommendation as well. They're both series that spend a lot of time playing with toku/superhero tropes.
