Help guys so I just installed windows 10 and all of it's features, like edge, cortana, mail, calender, they all say I'm offline when I'm actually online. The store doesn't work either. Help. If it makes a difference I just upgraded from windows 7. I also tried all the troubleshooters and it says I have no problem, and I can't even switch my account from local to microsoft.
Here's a leddit page I found on google with my problem but no one payed attention to it.

its a wifi driver issue. I had that same problem on devices manager. download/update/reinstall the wifi driver.
Upgrading from any windows to win10 is a boatload of problems.

I'm using ethernet tho
It also says I'm not connected to a network, when I try to connect, it just stays frozen and no "wireless routers or access points" are shown
my computer is currently connected thru ethernet to the router, and router to modem, I've been reading about it and some answers say it's because my network is set to public, but I don't have a network!
90 seconds my ass, I could have this running all day and it wont do jack shit
all I have is "local area connection" and I just did the uninstall driver then restart thing and it's renamed "ethernet 2"
does anyone browse this board?
help me pl0x

If you're using a wired connection, why are you even in the "search for wireless networks" box?

(everybody's ignoring you because you're writing like a tard).
Anyhoo, post, plox, screenshots of device manager with anything that looks like a network adapter expanded. Your shot in >>18374 shows you have no network adapters, which is gonna make connecting to the hoverweb a challenge.

I'm not, I'm trying to set up a network. My guess is that my firewall is blocking all the windows 10 apps because my computer connected to "guest or public networks" not "private networks"

here's a snap of my firewall too

You need to flick this.
it gives me no such option
just some info
Can it be that I don't have my routers drivers?
My connection is
coaxial port/isp cable> modem > ethernet cable > belkin wireless router > ethernet > my pc
my roommate has an iMac and he uses it's wi-fi

Are you Administrator?
Try:
Browsing to cmd.exe
right-click, run as administrator
make sure taskmgr isn't running
launch taskmgr from the cmd window
kill all explorer.exe
launch explorer.exe from the cmd window
Go back to your settings page and see if the option shows up
When you're done, kill explorer.exe, quit taskmgr, bring taskmgr back with ctrl-alt-del, run explorer.exe

No, the problem is that there's no way to uniquely identify a wired connection, so you need to tell Windows that either:
- All wired connections are private
or
- All wired connections are public
You don't need drivers for a router; if you did you'd need drivers for every router on the Internet.
>>18442
Just tried the cmd thing, didn't work.
I there any way to tell windows that all wired connections are private?
Here's my network connections
>>18450
Apparently you can do this.
CategoryType needs to be present and zero.
Category is 0=public,1=Home,2=Work
I've not tried it though.
>>18452
Sorry for wait, just did that.
I had 7 profiles and I tried deleting them all and reboot but they just came back, so I just ended up setting Category to 1 and adding CategoryType to all profiles
Atleast it's a different message in homegroup, instead of the usual you must set network to private, it just tells me to connect to an existing network, I click the link and literally nothing happens, not even the little loading circle near the cursor. Firewall still says I'm connected to public.

all the connect to a network buttons do jack shit, it doesn't even load anything
Just turned off firewall, and it still won't connect. What's causing this?
