If you are into horror I would recommend "Another" though a lot of people hate on it.
I just finished Shiki which is about vampires and it is a bit slow but is 24 eps, Another is 12 eps btw. Oh and Witch Hunter Robin is a bit old but pretty good as well an has a good dub.

Most anime are less than 100 episodes. Nowadays it's rare to find a series longer than 24 episodes.

I just want animes with less than 100 episodes, usually I don't mind with genres or background history to start watching a new anime. I watch some episodes and if it pleases me I keep watching it.
