I need help with my headset and xbone pls. Currently I've got my headset (input/headphone pin) connected to my monitor and I'm thinking of connecting my mic pin into the monitor also to communicate in the xbox live party. Will this work? If not, what alternatives do I have?

Why are you playing on a monitor?
Consoles are made for couch gaming
And you can plug the earphone to newer controllers
or just get the adapter, i like how i can change the volume and mute my mic at any given time
