So I need help with building a PC. From Singapore with a budget of roughly $1.6k.
Planning to build a decent one that can be used to handle dynamics stimulation rendering in Maya/Houdini & for gaming purposes.
Any recommendation?

this website is great and gives you good builds in general, but if you can, adapt it to your needs.

Specifically, if you're doing 3d modelling and not just gaming, you need more RAM, more cores, and a faster processor. The GPU still does a lot of the work, but you don't want the CPU or a lack of memory to bottleneck it.
Simulation isn't I/O bound to the extent online editing is, so while you need fast storage, you don't need big storage. A single good SSD will do, as opposed to the tiered SSD/5-drive-RAID you see in video workstations.
Say hi to the merlion for me.

Do I purchase the TARDIS before or after the motherboard?

Thanks, but based on the website. It's based on USD currency which from 1.6k UDS to a whooping 1.8k+ SGD. So I'll have to do quite a bit of adaption to fit my budget.
