Is it profitable to host game servers from home for others?
Let's say you have a good Internet connection and all that.
In theory, would it be possible to make at least some profit off running game servers from others on a server box off your home Internet connection?

samefag, made a typo, meant:
for others *
Depends where you're expecting to make profits from, and what you consider 'profit'?
I rented a cheapo Linux VPS (like $3/mo) and hosted a 12-slot Gmod server. It was monetized with adsense which easily made up for the server costs. Adding in player donations made it minorly profitable.
Although, if you're using a big ISP, you're more than likely not allowed to run a game server off your home connection.

I basically want to set up game servers and rent them to others. In other words, I want to run a micro hosting company from my home.
