Hey guys im looking for a good anitivirus software that won't blow my bank but will also protect me. Any suggestions?

I use Avast. In any case, it's absurd in this day and age to pay for any antivirus.

The most important one is common sense.
For the rest, Avira free is good. Or Avast, if you run Vista.

I highly recommended you do not use Avast, I've used it way back on XP and it was okay, but now it's just an abomination.
If you need realtime protection, for a free solution it seems Avira is highly praised these days, it's also what I most often install on people's computers when they ask for an AV.

If you feel like Common sense is enough, just get Malwarebytes + MSE or Clamwin and do occasional scanning
